Dear Forexmentor Members,
We understand that developing and advanced traders alike simply want to know what professionals are doing to consistently draw money from the weakest market participants. The ill-equipped trader is welcome bait to a professional trader on the other side of the market. A lack of market knowledge simply leaves one exposed to considerable risk of financial loss.
If you are an intermediate or advanced Forex trader, Forexmentor's Pro Traders workshops are designed to equip you with the most leading edge trading techniques and market perspectives you won't find anywhere else. These techniques and market knowledge are used by professional traders to beat the market consistently!
At Forexmentor, we are proud to have Chris Lori, who is a registered Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA), and fund manager at the institutional level, train and mentor our members. Chris trades through the world’s major banks and has experience in trading spot/cash, outright forwards, swaps, options and exotic options. He also works with large private clients on portfolio diversification relating to foreign exchange holdings.
Chris is a total professional in his training approach and fully understands the development process of a trader in its entirety. His trading philosophy is that market knowledge is the essential foundation to your trading success, followed by a sound psychological profile, trading strategies and the necessary tools and facilities to run your business. He covers all of these necessary components in his teaching and mentoring. Chris is a hard core trader with a realistic and practical trading approach.
Steve Winiarski comes from a diversified background in asset management services and currently operates the business he founded specializing in foreign exchange investment management for private clients. Prior to starting his own business, Steve was an analyst for one of the world’s largest hedge funds, where he was responsible for the management of excess capital, exposure, and allocation of cash and collateral across the funds’ widely diversified investment pool. Working in such a diverse environment, his experience gave him much of his knowledge to a broad range of investment and portfolio management techniques, as well as underlying principles of individual position management across a scope of asset classes. He began his career working in the asset management division of one of the world’s largest investment banks based in New York City. His exposure to an institutional methodology of portfolio management and structure spearheaded an interest in day trading. Later, he worked in the Global Foreign Exchange division as an independent consultant at another investment bank based in New York, where his knowledge of the specific market was honed and skills were attained that he carries into his regimen to this day. Many of the techniques and methods used by Steve were reinforced during this period.
Steve has been a guest speaker for university and industry roundtable discussions delving into a range of topics, from risk exposure to technical trading methods. He strives for quality in business and beyond, bringing with him a unique knowledge of the markets that he is always eager to share.

The Institutional Trading Environment Primer:
Most developing traders want to be part of a community; they want to know what others are doing and have access to information and resources that will lead to consistent Forex profit like the major institutions and bank traders. In this session, you will be introduced to the banking environment. We will review of the fundamental and technical considerations made by the world’s largest Forex traders.
OK, we realize that many of you have no interest in the fundamental aspects of the foreign exchange market. Even the most successful quants and technical traders understand the importance of the fundamentals in driving price and volatility.
The first session will start by covering some basic fundamentals that are absolutely essential if you want to understand how the foreign exchange market works. If fundamentals do not interest you, then you probably will have a tough go in this market. This will just be a warm up to the next section, which will get into more detail on interest rates, interest rate spreads and their affect on longer term trends and price. This is essential information for those who want to be position traders. We will also discuss other critical aspects of what drives price and inter-market relationships.
In this section, we will walk through current day bank analyst’s reports and learn how to draw out the important information relevant to what price is doing and why. Most of all, how you can use this information to guide you in your trading success and enhance your overall market knowledge, just like the professional traders and dealers. Once you have gone through this section, you will reflect and be amazed at how vulnerable you were as a novice trader, because understanding this section will propel you to the advanced level.
If you ever want to know how the institutional traders think and operate, this section gives you an insider’s view like no other. What distinguishes this workshop from any other, is that there are few, if any, other instructors with the experience and qualifications to share this kind of information.
You will be shown daily informational resources and bank reports that are available to you and how to use this information to guide your daily trading regime.
Understanding Price, Unique FX Market Characteristics and the Foundation for Patterns:
Chris’ method is a unique combination of Price Fractals, Psychological Dealing Zones and Chris’ Deep Fib Zones which are the root of his pattern trades. This price and pattern based approach at trading will provide you with a life long understanding of price. When you understand how price works in relation to the global marketplace, volatility, time of day and other critical factors, then you will be prepared to attack this market.
When you learn an indicator based trading system that perhaps didn’t gel with you and your personality and was not profitable, you are left with little progress in understanding the market, accept the fact that what you just learned didn’t work for you.
When you learn Chris’ approach to the market, he will also teach you at least six of his favorite strategies. What’s more important than learning a few strategies, is that you will learn how the market works, enhance your market knowledge to a much higher level and have the tools to adapt your own personality into Chris’ methods and strategies, or even your own.
You will have the foundation to establish the essential requirement of every successful trader… Independent Thinking!
You cannot and will not succeed unless you are an independent thinker. Chris gives you all the tools to do so along with every tool and strategy he uses as a trader.
Four High Probability Reversal Patterns You Must Use in Forex Trading:
Price Patterns are leading market indicators that will show you precisely where a high probability trade can present itself in the future. This beats all those lagging indicators commonly found with cheap forex systems that lose money. Not only do you lose money, but you don’t learn anything about the market, in the meantime. Indeed, lagging indicators have their place in trading, but high probability set ups are in the hands of traders empowered with a proper method to identify market levels in advance of price moves using powerful systematic pattern recognition techniques. This workshop will show you four high probability patterns using Price, DFZ’s and other market factors, (and some highly proprietary, extremely secret lagging indicators - ‘tongue and cheek folks’) to help you locate precision entries.
There is no question that chart patterns have power in generating very profitable moves. It is always easy to see a chart pattern after the fact. You will learn to apply an excellent combination of tools to get in the chart pattern at the root of the trend or move. This will give you the flexibility to take early profits on a percentage of your position and leave you with the possibility to manage a long term trade with the remaining portion of your position. Don’t aim for the home run and give back your profits, trade like a pro and build your equity!
Chris’ Indicators: As mentioned, lagging indicators can have their place in trading. In fact, they have been used profitably by a few professionals. Although not a big fan of them, we will add a few indicators that have some value in the overall trading approach. These indicators will be integrated into the class sessions.
Fund Manager and CTA Process
Do you want to trade other people’s money? Have other people asked you to trade for them? We will break up the technical teaching and exercises for a few minutes as Chris will walk you through the process of becoming registered as a CTA. More importantly, he will show you how managed funds develop and operate, including tools and facilities, and how essential equity management is to your success as a fund manager.
Simple Trade Spotting Techniques Intraday, Swing or Position Trading
In trading, there is a huge continuum between the fundamental trader versus the technical trader and the quant. Chris takes most of his longer term trades using fundamental factors that are supported by technical patterns. While on an intraday basis, trades are based off of technical information and less so on the fundamental environment. Chris will show you how to balance the two and specifically what to look for on both ends of the continuum.
Furthermore, He will bring it all together in the Pro Traders Club video reviews that you will be able to access for three months following the workshop. In the PTC, he shows you exactly what trades he is taking and why.
Ideal Order Entry and Position Management
The bottom line – Minimize risk and maximize profit with proper order entry and position management!! Learn Chris Lori’s popular order entry methods that have positively and completely changed the way many novice and experienced traders think and perform. As you know, position management can be very subjective. Well, the best way for a trader to remain consistently profitable over the long term, is to understand price movement at the deepest level and manage your trades according to what you see the major players doing (which is covered throughout the workshop). We will take what we learn about price movement and apply an easy to manage strategy aiming to maximize profitability, and control losses, on each entry you take. You will learn the famous “Chris Lori’s Big Stones Entry” method!
5 Critical Psychological Factors Every Trader Must Know about Themselves
We often hear that trading is “All Psychology,” well, trading involves many key components, but it is critical that you have clear understanding of the psychological factors that will definitely affect your ability to profit as a trader. Traders have all heard about the fear/greed emotional swings in trading, but just can’t get a handle on it when engaged in a trade in the moment. This section will help you to understand and manage the waves of emotion trader’s experience when taking on, and being engaged in, a trade.
Let it be known, that your psychological development develops concurrently with your market knowledge and risk control. So unless you make the decision to acquire essential market knowledge, you will continue to feel like you’re banging your head against the wall. And that hurts after a while!
What Do I Do Now?
By the end of the workshop, we will show you how to start your day, manage your workspace and look for potential entries on the day/weeks ahead. We will show you how to establish a plan, and look for potential future market set ups each time you sit down at your trading desk.

WORKSHOP CONTENT (Steve Winiarski)
During the workshop, Steve will be discussing a full-circle, proactive approach to trading which will include technical and mental methodology unique to his trading style. While many successful methods are commonly discussed, few traders ultimately include them in their daily routines and habits. Steve’s focus will highlight the abandonment of common crutches and maintaining a clean equity curve, through intense sessions that will cover discipline and management techniques that are built to last.
Technical Perspectives in Price Exhaustion, Continuation and Consolidation
During this session, we will cover the three primary stages of price: reversals, continuation and consolidation, and how to forecast all three environments. Of our sessions, this will perhaps be the most intensive as it will cover a large portion of material which is all technical in nature. Given the wide range of fundamental and other technical possibilities involved, workshop attendees will be given a very wide range of potential scenarios in order to both sharpen and understand the general flow and functionality of price movements. Reversal patterns and common misinterpretations will be discussed, as well as unique strategies for quickly identifying and trading such movements.
Of the aspects of trading Steve is known for, perhaps his best is his definition of price areas that respond very sharply as key turning points. We will discuss the identification of these areas and the gathered use of knowledge of identifying such levels and trading them over a long-term period.
All too often, traders will become either caught up in choppy price action or fighting clearly continuing trends. They trade momentum when they should be fading, or vice versa. Recognizing when a double or triple bottom is about to occur versus a prevailing trend movement is not an easy task for many traders.
In trading, timing is everything. Awareness of small, intraday nuances and will enhance your edge and increase your probability curve. Having the right timing can mean the difference of anti-productive emotional factors to even have the possibility of intervening versus latching onto a winner right from the beginning.
Attention-Driven Trading: Awareness and Planning
A loosely structured mentality is common with traders as the practice of investing itself is typically regarded as a hobby or mere area of interest. When applied, this can have disastrous results; a consistent trader is alert, nimble, and highly active. Understanding your surroundings while being alert and reactive to changes help you navigate through unchartered territory. Fundamental and technical factors in trading are no different.
Perhaps regarded as the most important component of Steve’s sessions, this discussion will hone your skills so you never miss a beat again. From fundamental and technical aspects, we will tell you exactly what it is you should be focusing your attention on and how to filter out unnecessary noise.
Awareness of all possible potential turning points, levels and outcomes is crucial to success and through a carefully built plan we will walk you through it all, step by step. This section will discuss tenets of building such awareness, maintaining it, and what to look for.
Profit Running
One of the most common pitfalls to most traders is the all too common action to let losers run and snap at quick profits. We believe that this is nothing more than a function of a lack of understanding of price and typical emotional intervention. While it’s a common issue, solutions are available yet rarely discussed.
While most educators seem to tackle this issue from a simple statement of “just don’t do it”…this logic in and of itself is enormously ineffective and this area is indeed, perhaps one of the most difficult to new and experienced traders alike. Techniques and mechanisms for overcoming this common pitfall will be thoroughly discussed as it is perhaps, one of the largest hindrances to discretionary trading.
Through cognitive, rational exercises we will show you path that will sharpen your skills and reactionary time to help you build a better equity curve through standard practice.
All About Trading Plans
We believe that one of the largest contrasts between a casual trader and an institutional trader is his or her ability to adhere to strict guidelines and limits. While many institutional traders are typically told their limits ahead of time and work with a close-knit team of peers to execute their trading decisions and maintain boundaries for risk (not to mention they run the risk of simply being fired if they don’t), independent traders can lack this level of cohesion.
While many people understand that they should be following and adhering to certain guidelines, most do not. Many times, it is because he or she simply lacks the knowledge of how to assemble a proper trading outline and subsequently, how to follow it and use it.
We will look at a robust plan of a discretionary trader and apply our model to these methods in our work as independents. We will discuss the development of a trading plan tailored to you within the boundaries of sound and realistic limits.
